Course Overview

The HCIA-5G-RNP&RNO (Radio Network Planning & Radio Network Optimization) course is a 5-day professional program designed for engineers focused on the full lifecycle of the 5G air interface. This curriculum moves beyond basic operations to cover technical network dimensioning, including link budgets for both TDD and FDD, capacity estimation, and advanced site survey methodologies. Participants will master the use of Huawei's GENEX tool suite for field drive tests and post-analysis, learning to troubleshoot coverage gaps and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) like accessibility, mobility, and retainability in both NSA and SA environments.

Course Outcomes

  • Execute the 5G radio network planning process, including site survey and site selection.
  • Calculate 5G link budgets for different frequency bands and duplex modes (FDD/TDD).
  • Identify the impact of Massive MIMO and Beamforming on network coverage and capacity.
  • Commission and manage Huawei 5900 series base stations for optimal radio performance.
  • Utilize GENEX Probe and Assistant for professional drive testing and performance reporting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve 5G coverage issues such as weak coverage, overshoot, and interference.
  • Monitor and optimize network KPIs including call setup success rate and handover success rate.
  • Analyze complex signaling processes to locate faults during NSA and SA network access.
